New strategic positioning for TranzX PST

JD Group introduces a new, two-tiered structure for the entire TranzX
PST product range at Eurobike 2010
Friedrichshafen, September 1, 2010 – The JD Group, a major manufacturer
of bicycle components and leading developer of electric technology for
electric bicycles, is introducing a new brand positioning for the complete
TranzX PST family of products.
The new system is divided into two integrated levels, the TranzX PST
“Component Series” and TranzX PST “Product Lines.” Both levels serve a
different purpose in conveying the advantages of the TranzX PST product
range and are helpful in communications with bicycle producers, retailers
and consumers. Together, the two levels offer a logical and strategic profile,
providing an easy overview that also entails detailed information.
TranzX PST Component Series – component specifications
The first level organizes the entire TranzX PST range into ten logical system
configurations. These ten component series consist of a display panel,
sensor, battery, motor and bag carrier, and are numerically categorized from
100 to 650 to enable a precise valuation of different system combinations.
The TranzX PST Series is listed in ascending order, which means that the
highest classifications present the top-rated drive systems, fitted with the
most valuable and advanced components.
The complete system flexibility offered to bike producers remains unchanged
with the introduction of these new series. In addition, they simplify making a
quick assessment of the individual parts and illustrate how different
components contribute to the value of each uniquely integrated drive system.
TranzX PST Product Lines – e-bike specifications
In the second level, the individual component series are combined with the
more broadly defined Product Lines: Comfort, Deluxe, Exclusive and
Premium. This improves the breakdown of attributes associated with
individual components into easily distinguishable rankings.
Thanks to the new structure, the TranzX PST Product Lines are a useful tool
in evaluating the drive systems of various e-bikes. Their additional function is
to serve as an e-bike label, which helps retailers and consumers interpret
details about the attributes of particular drive systems.
With this strategic brand positioning of the entire TranzX PST product range,
JD has selected a system that communicates its tremendous adaptability
and flexibility, but also gives bike producers and retailers a clearer, more

detailed overview of the individual advantages and values associated with
the various components.

TranzX PST presents a fresh look and new
strategic orientation
A new campaign focus for 2011 highlights individual component USPs
and supports the communication of a new TranzX PST structure
Friedrichshafen, September 1, 2010 – The JD Group, a major manufacturer
of bicycle components and leading developer of electric technology for electric
bicycles, is introducing a new product positioning as part of Eurobike
2010.
To integrate a complete restructuring of the TranzX PST product range, the
communications strategy of TranzX PST is being entirely refreshed.
Enhanced illustrations for 2011 reflect the new focus and facilitate communicating
the advantages of the different products, while each drive system and
individual component series complements the new structure.
"Details in Perfection," is JD’s new campaign slogan, unveiled in three component
images shown with extreme close-ups in an elegant, minimalist fashion.
This sophisticated depiction functions to highlight the innovative attributes
and unique features of each product.
In addition, the somewhat abstract pictures give a unifying imagery with
which to represent the different component groups including display units,
sensors and motors. This new product positioning better conveys both the
variety of the entire TranzX PST product range as well as the relationship
between the individual components. The product lines Comfort, Deluxe,
Exclusive and Premium round out the new system and help to distinguish the
many options available.
With this new communication and design focus, JD has developed an attractive,
uniform platform that is tailored to reflect the synergy of the brand’s
structure. The message focuses on the entire TranzX PST drive system. This
both underscores the campaign slogan “Details in Perfection” and
emphasizes JD’s expertise in creating state-of-the-art and customized drive
systems.
This campaign primarily targets bicycle producers and retailers as JD continues
to take steps in positioning itself as an innovative developer and high
quality manufacturer of drive systems, in order to consolidate its leading
position in the market for electric mobility.
